St Augustine Parish continues its transition to in-church services. Our opening of the Church is only the beginning our our celebration in turning the corner on the pandemic. However, with the spread of the "Delta Varient", the recent increase in the number of COVID cases in Los Angeles county and fact that many children remain unvaccinated, our return into the Church building will be done in a phased and slow manner. It will be good to be back in the Church building, but always remember that WE are the Church, whether we are in a parking lot or in a building we call “the Church.”
So, what does a “phased opening” mean? Basically, we will open the Church gradually, adding Masses as attendance increases, and so we will be adding an additional mass on Sundays. Our Mass schedule as of January 3, 2022 will comprise of a Saturday Vigil Mass at 7:00pm in Spanish and four (4) Sunday Masses at 9:00 a.m. (English), 11:00am (English) 1:00 p.m. (Spanish), and 3:00 p.m. (English). The 9:00 a.m. 11:00am. and 1:00 p.m. Masses will be celebrated in the Church. Many of you have indicated that you would feel more comfortable having Mass in the parking lot, and so we will continue to celebrate a 3:00 p.m. Mass in the parking lot. We continue to add weekday masses, and as of January 3, 2022, all masses on the weekdays will be celebrated in the Church on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 5:30pm and Wednesday and Thursday at 8:00am.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT ST. AUGUSTINE DRIVE IN MASS:
Many of our parishioners have indicated that they would like to continue with outdoor parking lot / drive in masses. In response to the request, we will continue celebrating mass in our outdoor format on Sundays at 3:00pm. A temporary altar has been set up in the parking lot near St Augustine School and vehicles will be directed on how to park facing the altar. Mass will be broadcasted over your FM radio. You will be given instructions on which frequency to tune into when you arrive. It is recommended that you arrive 20 minutes before mass begins so that everyone can be parked in time for mass.
Please plan on staying for the entire mass as it will be very difficult for vehicles to exit mid-mass.
After mass, please follow the directions of the parking ministers to allow for an orderly and safe exit from the parking lot.
